Eastsider [sans Landon]
I am no longer a resident of the East Side. I now temporarily share a residency with my cousin Mike and his fiancee Maya over by the State Fairgrounds. It may only be like 10 minutes out but it seems an overwhelming distance away from Water, Wolski's, Fratney and Cramer. Expect attendance to be down. Like way down.
And especially because I have less of a reason to want to ditch out on the roommate[s] now. Mike and Maya were some of the worst roommates in the world nearly 4 years ago and now I get the chance to pay them back a good one. But despite that my irritation when I was 18 laid mostly in the fact that even though I was moving in with the guy who once with me spent two solid months doing nothing but hanging out playing video games and watching movies in High School, his physical presence was something of an urban legend at our place in Oconomowoc. This was the fault of a terribly mediocre girl who we all knew would be short-lived and soon forgotten. But I've got the feeling this time around I actually won't have that drive to avoid my apartment like the plague as I have for the past 6 months so anyone taking regular attendance... be lenient.
Only other thing of note is that I'm desperately trying to resist peer pressure on buying a Nintendo DS, but I'm not sure how long I can hold out.
One other thing: I used the shower at Mike and Maya's for the first time today and the ceiling bled pennies. I'm a little concerned. I'm also dead serious. A penny fell from the fucking ceiling into the bathtub and I looked around, saw no source from whence it may have came, thought it strange and ignored it. Twenty or so seconds later: it happens again! What the fuck? Why is the shower spitting money at me? This time I draw back the curtains, look around the vicinity of the bathtub, inspect the shower nozzle and the wall texture. All clear. No pocket change clinging to the walls. Again, I forget about it. Thirty seconds later... I am now three cents richer than when I began my morning. And 78% more disturbed.
I waited for a fourth penny but none ever came. I guess I'm not Gob, or Super Mario Brothers' Bob Hoskins.
